However you should be the last "Executive" President of Sri Lanka as you promised. Make a better country without any separations.. and we hope no more racism again......!!

and former president Mahinda Rajapakse, you are one of the great political leaders in the world without any doubt :) You end up the civil war, but remember you didn't do it ALONE. you had a superb team.. without that dedicated team, you can't even imagine about that. However you did it great and we remember forever.
Without your bloody sons, without duplicity and deception and without your gang you are still the president. You end up the war and gave freedom to us (you didn't do it ALONE), but that doesn't mean you can do whatever you like... it seems like you save a girl from gang rapes and then you got rights to rape her back. President of Sri Lanka
The President of Sri Lanka is the elected head of the state and the head of the government. First holder of the position was William Gopallawa, before he served as the last governor of Ceylon.
After Ceylon declared itself a republic in 1972, and changed its name to Sri Lanka Gopallawa became the president. But not the head of the state, he saved as rubber stamp president. Head of the State and the head of the government was Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.
However Junius Richard Jayewardene -AKA- J. R. Jayewardene who introduced Executive Presidency in 1978 became the first Executive President of the island.
